I absolutely love this time of the year when feijoa’s are in season. This small fruit with its very distinctive taste (sweet yet quite zingy and tart) is also packed full of vitamins and antioxidants and a great addition to any smoothie this time of the year. Head down to your local Huckleberry’s and grab a bag of feijoas and whip up my feijoa green goodness smoothies. A power house smoothie that will set you for the entire morning.
Feijoa Green Goodness Smoothie
Ingredients
5 feijoas
1 banana
1/2 chopped green apple
1 handful of spinach
2 hand of kale leaves
1/3 cup chopped cucumber
1 Tbsp chia seed oil
1 cup coconut water
1/2 cup filtered water
Directions:
Scoop out the flesh from your feijoas and add to your blender
Add in all remaining ingredients and blend until smooth
Pour in your glasses and enjoy
